Tanya is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, with a B.A. in English and History and continued on to graduate from law school at Case. After law school, Tanya moved to San Diego for a brief stint, but ultimately found a job in Washington, D.C. as a legal editor for the Bureau of National Affairs (BNA) which is now Bloomberg BNA. Tanya returned to San Diego in 2010 with her family and started freelancing for Bloomberg and other local clients. After extensive research and training with a nationally-recognized college planning firm, she decided to leave her freelance work behind and become a college planner full time. Her training, legal background, and research and writing skills are valuable assets when working with families. As a single mother, Tanya is committed to helping families afford college because she herself will face this challenge when her two sons are older. She believes that an education is one of the most important building blocks to a strong foundation for the future and is passionate about making it affordable for everyone.
In addition to her two sons, Henry and Carsten, Tanya has two pugs, Mac and Ruby. She loves to paddle board, watch movies and cook. She prefers sunrises to sunsets and her favorite thing to do is spend time with her boys.
